The road toll system in Austria
The electronic road toll in Austria is operated via antennas detecting vehicles when passing under the gantries located on the lanes.
To be compliant and properly detected, all heavy goods vehicles and buses of over 3.5 tons using the Austrian motorways and expressways must be equipped with an OBU (on board unit).
You can either use specific local tags provided by Asfinag, or our interoperable unit to be able to circulate in France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium and Austria with a single box.
